About Carrierintel
Carrierintel is an independent carrier-data platform built on public FMCSA records. Freight brokers, shippers and insurers use it to review a carrier's inspections, crashes, authority and insurance together before they work with the carrier.
Search a US motor carrier by USDOT number, MC number or name and read its safety record on one page. No account is needed to open a carrier profile. Search carriers
Who it is for
Freight brokers, shippers and insurers who vet a carrier before they work with it.
Teams that sell to carriers, such as ELD, insurance, factoring and telematics companies, use the Carrierintel workspace to find leads and follow them to a deal. How the workspace works.
Why brokers use it
- Search by USDOT number, MC number or name without an account. Fair-use rate limit: 10 searches per minute.
- An insurance cancellation that is not re-filed within 3 days is flagged as a coverage gap.
- Fleet Reality compares the trucks a carrier declares with the trucks seen at its inspections.
- A violation that FMCSA does not count in SMS is marked Not counted in SMS.
- Four public data reports, with no account needed: ELD Tampering, Phantom Fleets, Top Violations and English Proficiency.
What a carrier profile shows
- Inspections, with each violation: its code, description and CSA points.
- Crashes, with fatalities, injuries, tow-aways and hazmat releases.
- Insurance filings and their history, cancellations included.
- Operating authority and its history of grants and revocations.
- SMS and CSA measures: FMCSA's monthly measures and our own estimated measures for four BASICs.
- Fleet Reality: the power units the carrier declares against the vehicles seen at its inspections.
- The Carrierintel Safety Score and the Risk Grade, built from the record above.
Where the data comes from
All carrier data comes from FMCSA public datasets on data.transportation.gov and the FMCSA Motus system. Carrierintel checks FMCSA for new inspections every hour.
Carrierintel is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by FMCSA, and the Safety Score and the Risk Grade are not FMCSA ratings. The methodology lists the data sources, how often they refresh and how to read the results.
Corrections
Carrierintel shows FMCSA's record as FMCSA publishes it. A carrier whose FMCSA record is wrong can request a review through FMCSA DataQs.
